Best of Emergent Voyageurs

Previous Post - Urban Seminary
Recently, new readers of the blog have asked me to list my top recommendations from previous posts to help them "get caught up" on the content. So while I may seem self-congratulatory (or at best, premature), there is a reason I am doing this. The following are the posts I would recommend to new comers to get caught up. If any of my more frequent readers think I am missing something, let us know in the comments section.

1. Paddle Always: While not profound, this is my blog introduction. It will give you an idea of why I started here in the first place, where I hope to go and so forth. It isn't the best post, but it is the best place to start.

2. More Than Words: In this post, I explore the power and nature of Truth through the telling of a very personal story. The lessons of this post have been central in guiding me to where I am today. Warning! It is a shocking tale.

3. Moving Through Inductive Bible Study - Part 1 & Part 2: In this series (which should have further additions in the months to come), I explore the history and development of the inductive Bible study method. While it is largely a critique of the method, it does acknowledge its strengths, as well as exploring possible alternatives.

4. In Defense Of Freedom: Through looking at both popular and church culture, I engage the challenges of freedom. What is true freedom? How do we protect against the abuse of freedom without removing it altogether? I take a stab at it here.

5. What Is Truth?: Perhaps the single most contentious question within the Emerging Church movement, I do my best to examine the issue. While there are far more qualified people with far more qualified understanding, I felt that if was going to be credible with this site, I had to offer my views.

6. My Life - Part 1, Part 2 & Part 3: Everyones beliefs are deeply rooted in their own story. In these three posts, I attempt to give a brief overview of where I have come from and how it shaped who I am today, as well as where I may be going. It also helps gives some perspective and context for my other posts.

Finally, if you haven't read my previous post, "Urban Seminary", the comment thread that follows is filled with wisdom, passion and promise. I hope you enjoy!

Peace,
Jamie Arpin-Ricci
