Of Immigration And Doggie Underwear: Prayer Request – UPDATED
Previous Post – Missional Leadership with Alan Roxburgh

UPDATE: Kim is home and is recovering. While only minor day surgery, the impact is pretty heavy, so she will be recovering for some time (bed rest for 3 days, limited physical activity for 2 weeks min.). She thanks you all for your prayers. Unfortunately we won’t get any test results from the surgery for at least 6-8 weeks. Other than that, the dog is… well, he could be worse, so we are pleased at any small blessings.
The last few days have been a whirlwind, with no end in sight. Last night’s event with Alan Roxburgh was a great success, but for lack of time (which I will explain shortly) I direct you to Brother Maynard’s blog for a review. I will be engaging some of the material in the coming days. Also, Allelon will be making video of the event available at a later date.
In the midst of the busy day yesterday, my wife Kim was having her last interview with immigration Canada. While she is awaiting the official card, after making yet another steep payment, her Permanent Resident status was finally confirmed. Thanks to all who helped out financially and prayed us through this ridiculously long process.
This morning, the dog had a medical emergency. While I will spare you gross details and the stressful story that accompanies, the upside was getting to see our dog run around in little boy underwear for the next few days (as pictured above). All of this the day before Kim goes in for surgery.
It has been two years since our miscarraige and, while all seems to be in order, we have not been able to get pregnant again. It is the single heaviest emotional burden we have been carrying. Tomorrow’s surgery (Thursday) is exploratory day surgery to eliminate the final possible problems. Please pray that all will go well and that we will be able to start a family.
As a result, I won’t be posted much over the next few days as I play caretaker to my wife (and dog). Hope you have a great weekend!

Congratulations with the immigration papers! and All the best for the operation. Liam
Will pray for Kim today! What a lot to happen in one week. Great news about the immigration status. And, your dog seems to have gotten over whatever trauma befell him earlier–back to his “job” looking out the window I see. Let us know how Kim’s surgery goes.

Liam,
Thanks. Keep us in prayer.
Peace,
Jamie
Cindy,
Thanks for your prayers. It is a very full week (in the middle of several full weeks). Alas!
As for the comment section, the login failed probably because you tried to use your Blogger login. Use the “other” option and you can fill in your name and website, etc.
Peace,
Jamie
Good news on the card, does this mean an Aussie Christmas could be in order for you?
Prayers are done, and pass my greetings and love onto your wife and dog.
When it rains, it pours…
Hopefully it will be somewhat quiet as Kim recovers.
Prayers are offered (and pats/scratches for Dino)-
Dana
I’m really pleased the PR has finally been approved
AS you know, I can so relate to the frustration of immigration! Praying for you both over the next few days. Take care.
That’s a picture worth saving!

Stuart,
Indeed, it looks like a warm, sunny Christmas (finances permitting). Kim is especially excited.
Peace,
Jamie
Dana,
Indeed, it has been a hell of day so far. Lord have mercy. Thanks for your encouragement.

Jamie
Lyn,
Thanks so much. Praying all goes smoothly for you too!
Peace,
Jamie
Wow Jamie – I don’t think you could ever have a calm, “nothing happening” week. Love the doggie pic. Praying for Kim.
DAWN
Dawn,
It’s beginning to feel that we to us too. Alas, we’ll live. Thanks!
Peace,
Jamie
I was glad to meet you last night, Jamie. And I appreciated Roxburgh’s conversation with those of us who were there. I wish I could have stayed around to talk; but it was a long drive home. I don’t know the other partys of your story, but i’ve dealt with immigration myself, so wish you all the betst as you finish whatever process you’re involved in. Daryl
Daryl,
Thanks for coming out the other evening. I am glad you enjoyed it. As for immigration, we’ve survived it, though I think Canada needs to rethinks its approach given its claims to embracing the other.
Peace,
Jamie
We are praying for Kim’s recovery and for your family.
Erika
