Ministry News & Going Dark…

Today is the big day for our YWAM ministry here in Winnipeg. We are moving our office out of the mission house into a storefront in the neighbourhood. This will give us a better space for our ministry and programs, as well as a more visible and public presence, which we really needed. I will try to post some pictures of the new space next week, but for those locals to Winnipeg, it can be found at 522 Sargent Ave (south west corner of Sargent & Young).

I am also performing my first wedding this weekend for one of our former staff members. It is a daunting resposibility, but I am honoured to have been asked. I’ll let you know about that next week too. However, given this busy schedule and the long weekend that follows, the blog will be going quiet for a few days. Scroll down and check out some of the great people I link in my blogrolls if you are interested. Otherwise, see you soon!

P.S. Can anyone name the comic heroes above and their ridiculous connection to Canada?

sabbertoothe and wolverine ae two I can name off the top of my head. im pretty sure that puck is one of um too… Im just not geeky enough to remeber um all.

  2. Ryan,

You got it. It is the Alpha Flight crew facing off the regular X-Men. AF is the saddest group of Canadian stereotypes imaginable. I mean, come on! Puck? Oh well…

    Peace,
    Jamie

    Jamie,
No, on the comic heroes above. But congratulations on doing your first wedding! Blessings on you in that.

  4. Ted,

Thanks. I head out for the rehersal this afternoon. I am excited and nervous. Keep me in your prayers, especially Saturday, 2pm (central).

    Peace,
    Jamie

Jamie Arpin-Ricci, Puck did have some rad powers though. Atleast we never had captian chesterfield, or Piere Poutine. at least the worst we’re subjected too is puck. I think….

  6. Ryan,

Sorry bro, but Puck is spoiled by the name alone. Check out Wikipedia’s entry on Alpha Flight. The names alone are depressingly cliche:

    those are cliche.

  8. The best Canadian comic caracters(as in the nationality of the chaacter not where the comic originated from) are Wolverine and Deadpool.

Actually in Marvel Comics, Wolverine was part of Alpha flight… but he ditched them pretty quickly.

Hope the new YWAM office works out.

  9. See Ryan. I knew you’d agree. (wink)

  10. Hey Simon!

I agree, and I can’t blame Wolverine for leaving. What a bunch of maple-sucking hosers, eh!

    Peace,
    Jamie
