Books For Christmas!
Another Christmas has come and gone, with lots of family, friends and food to fill heart and body. This was an especially special year, as Kim’s parents and sisters came over from Australia for a month. It was also the first Christmas in our house here in Winnipeg. I will have many wonderful memories (and a few extra pounds) from this holiday.
I was also very blessed with my gifts this year, as my “hinting” about books was well received. Here is what I will be reading in the coming months, so look for some reviews:

I can hardly wait to start reading…

You”ll dig the NT Wright book- but Oprah? Just kidding.
You could use some more fiction on that list, though. Doesn”t Coupland have anything you haven”t read???? J/K
Oh, and BTW- nothing better than books (or $ for books) for Xmas!
Lukas,
I wanted fiction, but there isn”t anything I want at the moment. I own all of Couplands fiction (and most of his non-fiction). And yes, books are best!
Peace,
Jamie
You just wait, Jamie. Once I”m done my novel, you”ll have some awesome fiction in your house. Hehehehehehehe. I”ll have to grill you on some stuff… see if you can enlighten me in the publishing/marketing areas…
Love ya
Jez
Jez,
No worries. I would recommend picking up a few books, but most especially "Writers Market 2006" or "Christian Writers Market 2006" (the first is better). Not only will it list all publishers, what they are looking for, etc., but also has great content on writing proposals, etc.
Peace,
Jamie
Nice – the Wright books and the one by Newbigin are on my list as well. I”ll be looking forward to those reviews.
I have the one by N.T. Wright. Great stuff. I need to get into it again as it”s been awhile.
I do need to get into Leslie Newbigin. Oh yes, Paul in Fresh Perspective. If I had that book right now I”d be glued in.
Dorothy Day sounds interesting too. And of course Leonard Sweet.
Forgive me. How could I leave out Webber?
I do look forward to your review on all of them, particularly the Oprah book. ha.
Ted,
I will likely review the Oprah book first. I think you will be surprised at this one. Thanks for stopping by.
Peace,
Jamie
Nice collection! Though I”d have to throw in some food memoirs – always best to combine vices.
Looking forward to hearing the reviews – particularly with Oprah: some mama bloggers are convinced she doesn”t really exist.
Is the Bible on the list?
Tim,As I own several Bibles, I did not receive any for Christmas, thus not on the list. However, it is (of course) a daily read for me.Peace,Jamie
